제목 Agglomerating Fluidization and Granular Dynamics
초록 Sticky Powders are important in many industries including pharmaceutical, food, polymerization, materials, waste management and coal conversion. Since fluidized bedsfor sticky powders have been designed much based on empirical knowhows, we oftenencountered troubles such as de-fluidization, formation of too large agglomerates, unwanted cohesion of particles onto equipment walls, etc. The issue was raised severaltimes independently by researchers, but the theoretical formulation of the problem hasnot yet completed. Recently the issue was rediscovered. Some new fluidizationtechniques to handle sticky fine particles more easily were also proposed recently. Aquantitative understanding on the sticky powder fluidization issue should not be toodifficult if we apply all the knowledge on the stickiness of particles as well as on thehydrodynamics of fluidized beds. In accordance with the progress of computers, we arealso becoming able to simulate individual particle motions in a fluidized bed. In thispaper our recent achievements relevant to the above issues are presented.
