Overcoming the Intrinsic Limitation of Circularly Polarized Luminescence Molecules |
초록 |
Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) refers to the differential emission between the left-handedly CPL and the right-handedly CPL. The polarity of CPL enables unique display applications; notable examples include three-dimensional displays and anti-reflectance films in the flat-panel displays. Full exploitation of these photonic utilities require emitters of CPL. Molecular CPL emitters have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional systems because their properties can readily be tuned through synthetic control. One challenge in the development of molecular CPL emitters is to achieve high luminescence quantum yields without sacrificing luminescence dissymmetry factors. As an initial approach to addressing this challenge, my group focuses on a supramolecular strategy. We recently found that helical assemblies of cyclometalated Pt(II) complexes produce strong CPL. These CPL-active assemblies could be integrated into organic devices which produce CP electroluminescence. |
