Synthesis of Highly Soluble a Novel Donor-Acceptor Type Semiconducting Polymer |

In this study, a new donor-acceptor type semiconducting polymer shows high solubility in various solvents which enables convenient fabrication of semiconducting devices such as thin-film transistors, and also stimulates possibilities for large scale solution processing. Absorption spectra of PPTBTT showed large red shift when the polymer was prepared as a thin-film, which can be illustrated by the high solubility and molecular packing of the synthesized polymer. In summary, a new donor-acceptor type semiconducting polymer with highly planar PCZ units was designed and synthesized by the Suzuki-coupling reaction. The synthesized polymer showed outstanding solubility in various solvents due to the long side chains on both the donor and acceptor moiety. The increase in field-effect mobility can be ascribed to the high intermolecular interactions prompted by the favorable structural order of the polymer film mentioned above. |
