Kenaf-derived three-dimensional (3D) porous carbon (PC) is considered to be a promising low-cost supporting material for application in energy storage devices. In this work, a facile approach was applied to prepare the porous structured PC/PANI with nanostructured PANI and high porous kenaf. Such porous structures of the PC provided a conductive network to enhance the charge transport and mass transfer in the electrochemical process. Firstly, we carbonized kenaf stem, NaOH retted kenaf, and enzyme retted kenaf to obtain the PC, then, PANI was synthesized by in-situ polymerizations with the existence of PC. The high porous structures of PC were confirmed by SEM images. The SEM images of PANI/Kenaf demonstrated that the PANI formed a fibrous structure on the surface of the porous kenaf. The electrochemical properties of PC/PANI shows good electrochemical activity and also showed a higher specific capacitance value than PC material. |
