Carbon fillers-reinforced polymer composites have all the ideal properties, leading to their rapid development and successful use for many applications over the last decade. Among them, thermoplastics have been extensively used in automotive applications for the last few decades and are most visibly seen in automobile bumpers and heat-sink materials under the bonnet. This study presents the effect of carbon fillers on thermal properties of carbon fillers-reinforced HDPE composites. The HDPE composites filled with different contents of carbon materials were prepared by a twin screw extruder using the direct compounding method. The thermal properties and thermal stability of the composites were investigated using thermal conductivity test, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). Also, the resultants of the composites were characterized by mechanical property measurements (tensile and impact strengths) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). |
