제목 Effect of polymerization conditions on the synthesis of Poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) by oxidative coupling in organic solvent
초록 Poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) (PPE) is well-known engineering plastic used in many important areas such as computer housings, keyboard frames, automobile industry and so on. The oxidative coupling polymerization of 2,6-dimethyl phenol (DMP) by copper/amine complex was performed in various organic solvents. The experimental variables include the DMP to catalyst ratio, ligand concentration, stirring speed, reaction time, and type of solvent. In this work, the effects of experimental variables on the polymerization have been investigated by measuring molecular weight, thermal properties, and spectroscopic characteristics.
