제목 Effect of the amount of DBSA on asphaltene stability/instability in a deasphalting system
초록 Effect of dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) on asphaltene aggregation and dispersion in a solvent deasphalting system was investigated in terms of adsorption mechanism of DBSA. Asphaltene removal ratio increased first and then decreased with the increase of concentration of DBSA. The maximum point for asphaltene aggregation was found to be at 1wt% DBSA. Based on the analysis of the precipitated asphaltene through FT-IR, XPS, SARA and UV-vis, this phenomenon can be explained as follows: DBSA below CMCDBSA (≧2500ppm) exists as a monomer or semi micelle in heptane at first and then the monomer of DBSA adsorbs on the asphaltene surface by acid-based interaction. After which, the long tail of DBSA promotes asphaltene precipitation up to the maximum removal rate. Over 1wt% of DBSA, the increase of semi micelle of DBSA adsorbed on asphaltene-resin surface by hydrophobic interaction makes it loosely so that asphaltene removal ratio decreased.
