Photonic Polymer Replicas as VOC's Sensors |

Photonic crystals of polymer replicas have been successfully obtained from the rugate structured porous silicon/polymer composite by the removal of rugate porous silicon films in HF/H2O mixture solution. The polymer replicas replicate the photonic features and the nanostructure of the master. Sensing experiment with the photonic polymer replicas have been achieved for the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOC's). Other possible applications will be discussed. |
