Along with the breakthroughs in organic electronics technologies, organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) based on donor-acceptor (D-A) polymers has been emerging as eco-friendly device system due to low cost, light weight, superior mechanical flexibility, and solution processibility. As promising electron-donating units, heteroaromatic blocks containing chalcogen atoms have been received tremendous interests due to their fine orientation and good charge transporting ability. For comprehensive understanding of the effect of chalcogen atoms on the charge transport, we synthesized three diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based polymers with furan, thiophene, and selenophene donor units and compared their optical, morphological and electrical properties. This study will provide guidelines for molecular design strategies to synthesize high-performance polymer semiconductors. |
