Advanced functional materials developed by silk fibroin/alginate aqueous two phase system (ATPS) |
초록 |
Aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) is usually formed by two incompatible polymers in a water-in-water biphasic system. Lately, lots of effort has been put into finding new ATPS polymer pair to further expand ATPS’s applications. In this paper, a new pair of ATPS based silk fibroin (SF) and alginate is introduced. SF/alginate is a pH responsive system where pH triggered SF chain extending. We explore three example applications using SF/alginate ATPS: compartmentalized multiplex immunoassay, controlled encapsulation and release, and hierarchical fiber fabrication. We believe that this paper could open a new area of extending the applications of both biopolymers. |
