In this work, phthalonitrile derivatives of 4,5-bis(5H-benzofuro[3,2-c]carbazol-5-yl)phthalonitrile (BFCz-2CN) and 4,5-bis(5H-benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-c]carbazol-5-yl)phthalonitrile (BTCz-2CN) were synthesized as thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) dopant material. To exhibit TADF characteristic, phthalonitrile was used as electron acceptor, and 5H-benzofuro[3,2-c]carbazole and 5H-benzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-c]carbazole were used as electron donors. The ΔEST of BFCz-2CN and BTCz-2CN were 0.13eV and 0.17eV, respectively. As fluorescent organic light emitting diodes dopant materials, BFCz-2CN and BTCz-2CN showed maximum quantum efficiencies of 12.4% and 11.4%, with CIE coordinates of (0.20, 0.42) and (0.20, 0.41), respectively. |
