Surface properties of thin film are key for defining its application. Especially stimuli-responsive materials showing the change of properties by external stimuli are an interesting topic due to potential applications such as sensors, membranes, microactuators, microfluidic devices, and other advanced nanodevices. The surface change of polymer film is usually induced by chemical or physical treatments such as solvent, low-temperature plasma treatments, electron beam irradiation, pH, light, etc. In this study, a simple route to induce the morphological change and consequent change of surface properties in thin film of block copolymer is demonstrated. Highly ordered thin film of block copolymers was generated by solvent annealing and then irradiated by deep UV light with a wavelength of 254nm. Surface structure and properties were characterized by using AFM, contact angle measurement and XPS. |
