There is currently considerable interest in bulk hetero junction based organic solar cells (OSCs) for use as new generation energy harvesting devices, due to their low cost, ability to flex and simple process. To obtain the high performance OSCs, it is of importance to prepare highly conductive, low resistance and transparent electrode. Until now, OSCs have been fabricated on ITO electrode. However, to realize the large area organic solar cell without reduction of device efficiency, low resistance of transparent conducting oxide materials are require to achieve low series resistance of OSCs. In this work, the characteristics of OSCs fabricated on low resistivity ITO/Ag/ITO with a different active area are described. Despite the ITO/Ag/ITO thin film having similar electrical and optical properties to those of ITO, OSCs with large photoactive area (>2.0 cm2) fabricated on ITO/Ag/ITO electrode show higher power conversion efficiency than ITO. |
