제목 A study on wettability of carbon felt electrodes to use for redox flow battery depends highly on degree of functionalization according as oxidation time
초록 Carbon materials have attracted much attention for electrodes in energy storage system. Among of that, PAN based carbon felt (CF) has been used for electrode of redox flow battery due to its good electrical conductivity and high surface area. In this study, we focused that wettability is depended on degree of functionalization. The oxidation and functionalization process were used with widely known method. CF electrodes were oxidized for 1h, 5h, 10h, 15h and 20h, respectively, and functionalized with hydrogen peroxide for 4h. The prepared samples were characterized by SEM and EDX to analyze surface of CF and quantity of oxygen. Electrochemical properties were studied with cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectra and ASR. Oxidized sample for 15h was shown the highest performance for redox flow battery compared to others.
