Kenaf stem usage which is an interest in using agricultural biomass has increased in recent years due to their low cost, lightweight, non-toxic, and other important advantages. However, kenaf stem have insufficient interfacial adhesion, poor resistance, and low melting point. Therefore, in this study, crystalline cellulose was prepared from kenaf stem using the alkali treated different concentrations. Subsequently, hydrolysis with H2SO4 futher increased the crystallinity of bleached kanaf stem cellulose. This treated kenaf stem was first carbonized, the optimal textural properties being used as precursor for activation. Such porous structures of activated kenaf stem exhibited network to enhance the charge transport in the electrochemical process. |
