Synthesis and electrochemical performances of polypyrole/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites |

Polymer nanocomposites based on conducting polymers (CPs) and graphene have been considered as one of the most promising electrode materials for supercapacitors due to its ease of synthesis and high conductivity. In the present work, we have synthesized polypyrrole graphene nanocomposites through in-situ chemical oxidation polymerization method of pyrrole monomer on the graphene oxide (GO) surface followed by thermal reduction of GO to graphene. Synthesized PPy/graphene composites were characterized using various characterization tools. Successful formation of sheet like PPy on the surface of graphene was characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Supercapacitor electrodes based on these nanocomposites were fabricated and characterized for its electrochemical performances. |
