Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been used as a support materials for the dispersion and stabilization of metal and semiconductor nanoparticles (NPs) due to their large chemical activity on surface and stability at high temperatures. In this study, Cu nanoparticles were introduced to the surface of functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). To control the size of the Cu nanoparticles, we adopt the reduction method for the synthesis of the Cu-MWCNTs nanocomposites. Assembled Cu-MWCNTs might be used to identify the location of functional groups of MWCNTs and to improve the conductivity of polmer/MWCNT composites as well. Cu-MWCNTs is characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy(TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). |
