Ibuprofen removal from waste water using polystyrene microplastic adsorbent |
초록 |
Ibuprofen is among the pharmaceutical product wastes which recently appeared as water pollutant introduced in to the aquatic ecosystem bypassing municipal waste water treatments. Thus, ibuprofen needs to be removed before waste water reaches to the marine life. In this study, polystyrene microplastics were prepared and employed for ibuprofen adsorption. Polystyrene microplastics (<200μm) were prepared using simple freeze-drying technique. the prepared polystyrene microplastic was characterized by FESEM, BET and FTIR. Adsorption efficiency and kinetics were studied using UV spectroscopy where high adsorption efficiency was recorded. Adsorption isotherm models Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin–Radushkevich were also employed to study the adsorption process. |
