제목 마이크로 LED 기술개발 동향 및 개발현황 : 한국광기술원의 현재까지 개발된 결과을 중심으로
초록 Next-generation displays require differentiated performance from conventional flat-panel displays, such as transparent displays, 3D displays, and flexible displays. Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), which have become a recent issue as a next generation display implementation method, have a faster response speed than LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and have little afterimage in the reproduction of moving pictures, do not need backlight due to self luminescence, Although it has the advantages of clear image quality, it has a disadvantage that it is difficult to enlarge and the product life is short. In order to reduce the power consumption of the display in a wearable device, a high-efficiency pixel is required. In addition, the microdisplay sector requires a high resolution driving technology such as a head mount display (HMD), a smart glass, and a medical device, and a large display for advertisement and information transmission is required to have low power, freedom of installation and high brightness performance. The main issues of micro-LED displays with a size of 100 μm × 100 μm × 10 μm or less in size, especially in wearable appliances, are miniaturization, light weight and simple structure, daytime visibility. Micropixel type LED is applicable to transparent display, flexible display capable of bendable and scalable display because it has high brightness characteristic in outdoor environment and can realize clear picture quality, easy to enlarge, fast response speed, low power and long life And it is expected to be highly applicable to the next generation display industry.
In this presentation, we will look at the recent trend of micro LED, the next generation display, and introduce micro LED light source manufacturing technology, and then the LED displays operated in the current driving method made by KOPTI are introduced, which including flip-chip micro LEDs and packages
