The development of a direct formic acid fuel cell power system for lap-top computer operation |

Of late, LG Chem, NEC, Antig, Toshiba, Ultracell and Samsung have reported a direct methanol fuel clel (DMFC) system to operate lap-top computer and showed the possibility of the commercialization of DMFC system. We first present the development of a direct formic acid fuel cell (DF2C) power system for a lap-top computer operation. The system consists of a 15 MEA stack capable of 25W at about 70mW/cm2 and power management including high efficient DC-DC converter. The initial start-up, dynamic response and long-term performance of the DF2C system were extensively studied. |
