Preparation and Characterization of Biomass-derived Microporous Carbons for Hydrogen Storage |

In this study, we have prepared biomass-derived microporous carbons (BMCs) for hydrogen storage. The precursors of BMCs were prepared from watermelon using a hydrothermal reaction. The chemical activation was performed with various temperatures. The structural properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphological properties were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The textural properties were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation. The hydrogen storage capacity was investigated by a volumetric measurement at 77 K/1 bar and 298 K/100 bar. |
