제목 Effects of the ionic unit concentration on the water uptake behavior of styrene-based ionomers
초록 Ionomer is a polymer that has ∼15 mol % of repeating units containing ionic groups. Thus, the ionomer has dual characteristics, i.e. polar and non-polar characteristics. Because of these dual characteristics, when the ionomer were exposed to a moisture environment, water molecules would act as polar plasticizer that would reside in the polar (i.e. ionic) regions of the ionomer. Therefore, in this study, by actively exposing the ionomer to the water, we tried to investigate the initial water-uptake rate and maximum water-uptake of the ionomer and to understand the water-uptake mechanisms of the ionomers.
