In this study, biopolymer was adopted as a substrate for thin film transistor (TFT) device and its performance has been demonstrated. For the environmental purpose, in this study, most of materials for fabrication of TFT were adopted from biologically produced substrates, where related researches have been in spotlight in order to accomplish an entirely biodegradable electronics. As a semiconductor material, indigo has been adopted, which is a natural pigment from plant. The devices have been fabricated on biodegradable carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) substrate. Gate dielectric layer was based on lactose, which was also known as a good performanced dielectric layer with low dielectric losses. Ahead of an implementation of TFTs on the CMC, all TFTs’ functions could be examined on Si substrate. Through this kind of biodegradable electronic deivces, recent environmental problems associated with non-degradable plastic could be reduced or eventually resolved in the furture. |
