Diblock-copolymer-like supramolecules prepared from simple blending of mono-end-sulfonated polystyrene and mono-end-aminated polybutadiene exhibit unique properties such as dimensional swelling and morphology switching which cannot be observable in covalently bonded block copolymer system. In this work, we examined morphological behavior of the supramolecular system by changing the blend ratio as well as the annealing temperature. After we obtain the cylinder morphology by controlling the blend ratio and the annealing temperature and the cylinder part (polybutadiene in this study) is removed by ozone treatment, we can obtain nanoporous materials. More interestingly, when a film of the blend is asymmetrically heated, the pore size at top and bottom of the film differs from each other, exhibiting asymmetric surface properties. This kind of materials can be used for various potential applications such as highly efficient membrane filter with high permeability and high selectivity. |
