제목 Development of Composite Side Impact Beams for Car Doors by Woven-ILC Process
초록 In this paper, we aim to utilize the thermoplastic composites(Glass fiber/PA6) to manufacture the door impact bar. The shape of impact beam which is incorporated into the door module was determined by computer simulation. The mechanical properties used for the simulations was the experimental data obtained from the tests for samples of glass fiber/PA6 composites. We manufactured composite impact bar by the method of woven in line compound which was known as the combined technology of injection and pressing molding methods. The properties of products by Woven ILC method depends on the kind of inserting materials(UD prepregs or dried woven fabrics). The impact bars with different inserting materials, the UD prepregs and dried woven fabrics were produced and tested for their properties such as tensile, shear and absorbed energy. Based on the results from the tests as well as the simulation, the design of the car door impact bar was finally determined prior to a real car test.
