제목 Synthesis and Characterization of N-doped TiO2 Loaded onto Activated Carbon Fibers under Simulated Solar Light Irradiation
초록 In this work, we have reported that N-doped TiO2 powders via a sonochemical synthesis were loaded onto activated carbon fibers (ACFs) for fabricating a series of N-doped TiO2/ACFs photocatalysts. The prepared N-doped TiO2 particles were mainly composed of anatase phase and nitrogen atoms were incorporated into the surface of TiO2 as interstitial nitrogen. In comparison with pure TiO2, the N-doped TiO2 showed an evident red shift in the absorption band edge leading to obvious increase to visible region absorption. Also, the TiO2 nanoparticles were successfully dispersed onto the surface of ACFs. Photodegradation experiments of rhodamine B showed that N-doped TiO2/ACFs nanocomposites exhibited better photocatalytic activities under solar light irradiation. This may be ascribed from the combined effect between the excellent adsorption properties of the ACFs and the visible light photoactivity of the N-doped TiO2.
