제목 | Synthesis of Mg-doped silica/titania hollow nanoparticles-based electrorheological fluids with various vegetable oils |
초록 | Although the electrorheological (ER) fluids have received lots of attention because of their several advantages, there has been a limitation that the ER fluids can cause harmful effect to the environment. To overcome this limitation, the ER fluids consisting of silica/titania hollow nanoparticles and vegetable oils are fabricated and analyzed. Four different vegetable oils are used as carrier fluids due to their high biodegradability compared to the conventional liquid carriers. Additionally, magnesium, which is biodegradable and non-toxic, is used as a dopant to enhance the ER performance. The synthesized eco-friendly ER fluids exhibit excellent properties such as high shear stress and dispersion stability.
