Enhancement of dispersion ability of silica in the rubber composite by chemical modification |
초록 |
Instead of carbon black, silica filler has been considered as new material which upgrades tire performance and resolves environment problem making CO2. However, the large agglomerates of silica in the rubber composite tend to form a flaw which leads to mechanical failure. Silica was modified with hydrophobic silane coupling agent to increase dispersion ability in the rubber composite. The hydrophobicity of silica is measured by water separation test and water adsorption/desorption test. The dispersion ability of modified silica in the rubber composite is analyzed by SEM and Si-mapping. While unmodified silica is agglomerate in the rubber, modified silica is well dispersed in the rubber composite. |
