제목 Graphene Structure and Morphology using Liquid Crystal Assembly
초록 Here, we report a simple method for the visualization of arbitrarily large graphene domains by imaging the birefringence of a graphene surface covered with nematic liquid crystals. The method relies on a correspondence between the orientation of the liquid crystals and that of the underlying graphene, which we use to determine the boundaries of macroscopic domains. In addition, we demonstrate that the presence of a few 1D nanowires can significantly enhance the electrical conductance of a graphene film. Direct observation of LC texture clearly showed that the improvements in the graphene film electrical conductance properties upon the addition of silver nanowires did not result from the chemical doping properties of the AgNWs, but rather due to the connections among the domains in the graphene film facilitated by the AgNWs.
