제목 Preparation of composites with aligned nanoclays from PDMS emulsions
초록 Since normal materials become thinner in perpendicular when stretched, they are hard to apply on flexible devices or attach for a long time on moving things such as the human’s body. For these reasons, auxetic materials are required, and this study aims to make auxetic composite materials that have vertically aligned inorganic fillers. To make the materials, DMC (Directional Melt Crystallization) technique is used, which is an experiment method that creates an aligned structure by growing solvent crystals in a vertical direction by a temperature gradient. The composites were prepared from the emulsions which are prepared with nanoclay and poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) uncured resin by using the DMC technique. Nanoclay is incorporated into PDMS in the one step fabrication method for viscoelastic composites, and materials are checked if the Poisson ratio becomes 0. Pores were successfully introduced too by removing the solvent crystals, resulting in nanoclay/PDMS foams.
