제목 Significance of TEA and LCA for the Development and Commercialization of CCU Technologies
초록 Various carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technologies have been proposed in order to reduce the emission of CO2. However, most of these technologies were developed solely without considering upstream (CO2 capture) or downstream (CO2 conversion and products purification) processes. Furthermore, most of the technologies were developed at lab-scale, and it is not easy to evaluate their potentials of commercialization. Techno-economic evaluation (TEA) and life cycle assessment (LCA) can be a solution for these problems, thus in this presentation, the importance of TEA and LCA are emphasized. It is shown how TEA and LCA serve as a bridge between lab-scale development of technologies and their commercialization.
