Investigation on Electrochemical Performance of AC/CuO Hybrid Supercapacitors |

In this work, activated carbon (AC)/copper oxide (CuO) hybrid supercapacitor cells have been assembled and electrochemical performance was characterized in 6 M KOH aqueous electrolyte. AC as negative electrode materials was prepared from chemical activation of petroleum pitch. A CuO with flower-like nanostructures was fabricated at a low temperature by a simple chemical precipitation method for positive electrode material. The textural properties of the AC were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption. The The electrochemical performances of the AC/CuO hybrid supercapacitor were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge/discharge tests. It is suggests that AC/CuO hybrid capacitor is promising for practical applications due to its low price, easy preparation of CuO and friendliness to environment. |
