Effect of PS-b-P2VP film Thickness on Reflected Color and Viewing Angle Variation |

Responsive photonic crystals have been developed for chemical sensing using the variation of optical properties due to interaction with their environment. Photonic crystals with tunability in the visible or near-infrared region are of interest for controlling and processing light for active components of display, sensory or telecommunication devices. Poly(styrene-b-2-vinyl pyridine) (PS-b-P2VP, 52k g/mol – b - 57k g/mol) lamellar structure with alternating hydrophobic-block and hydrophilic-block polymers were prepared for the photonic crystal film. Photonic crystal film was coated onto silicon wafer for measuring surface morphology and structure of photonic crystal films. Changes of photonic crystal thickness made variation of reflected color and viewing angle control of the devices using photonic crystal film. This experiments shows changes of thickness have an effect on reflected color and viewing angle variation. |
