제목 Fabrication of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Particles via Suspension Polymerization
초록  Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a thermoplastic fluoropolymer made from vinylidene fluoride (VDF). According to its excellent chemical, thermal stability and fine processability, PVDF has attempted to be applied as a binder material for lithium-ion batteries. Although PVDF is a core material in the battery field, it is highly dependent on overseas supply, so the localization of PVDF is necessary.

 In this study, PVDF particles are fabricated through suspension polymerization of VDF. In various conditions, the particle size, polymer molecular weight, and thermal characteristics of the polymer were successfully controlled. The shape and various properties of the particles were confirmed through FE-SEM, DSC, TGA, and GPC for PVDF according to various synthetic conditions. Furthermore, small amount of co-monomer is applied to provide enough adhesion. Successfully controlled PVDF particles has a potential to use in the real industry.
