제목 Preparation and Characterization of PFSA/Inorganic Composite Membrane for DMFC
초록 Nafion is one of the PFSA membrane. Nafion 117 membrane is prepared. We modified Nafion, using Zirconium Sulphophenyl phenylphosphonic acid (Zr-msPPA). Nafion/Zr-msPPA polymer composite membranes decreased the size of hydrated cluster. Proton conductivity of the membrane was measured using an impedance spectroscopy. Methanol permeability was measured using a diffusion cell with a refractive index (RI) detector to monitor the variation of methanol concentration in the permeated compartment. Both proton conductivity and methanol permeability decreased with increasing the concentration of Zr-msPPA. Water uptake of composite membrane was measured from the weight change before and after soaking the membrane in deionized water for a day. Their thermal properties were investigated using TGA. Water uptake of the modified membrane, the important factor in fuel cell, was lower than that of Nafion 117. Water uptake also decreased with increasing of Zr-msPPA weight.
