제목 Electrochemical Behaviors of Composite Electrolytes Derived from Poly(ethylene oxide)
초록 Polymer composites consist of a heterogeneous combination of multiple physically and chemically distinct phases, which present different properties from their individual components. The combination results in a material that maximizes specific performance properties. These properties are functions of the relative quantities of the individual phases, morphology and size of the dispersed phase, their distribution and orientation. The preparation of polymeric composite electrolytes is simpler, they are self-supporting, and they generally have excellent mechanical properties. We have prepared a series of nanocomposites containing poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) intercalated in the layers of synthetic clay of montmorillonite (MMT).
The synthetic clay electrolytes are prepared with lithium exchanged MMT dispersed in an organic carbonate type solvent, PEO and Li salts. The clay provides a mechanically stable structure, while the lithium cations associated with the large anionic clay platelet become highly mobile. Li-MMT was prepared by cation exchange reaction of Na-MMT. The influence of MMT on thermal and electrochemical properties were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), DSC, and XRD methods.
