Preparation of Conducting Polymer Nanowires and the Applications |

Inorganic nanowires have been extensively explored from the synthesis to device applications, meanwhile the polymer nanowires have not attracted much interest. As observed in inorganic nanowires, conducting polymer nanowires with a specific growth direction have considerably different charge transport and mechanical properties compared to the isotropic conducting polymers. This talk deals with the preparation of conjugated polythiophene nanowires and also of PEDOT:PSS nanowires. This talk explains the enhanced charge mobility or conductivity of the conducting polymer nanowires as well as the enhanced electrical stability at large mechanical strains. Extremely flexible and highly stretchable transistors will be demonstrated using the employing the enhanced properties. |
