A series of diphenothiazylvinylene and benzothiadiazole based copolymers, P1, P2, and P3 have been synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction. These polymers were soluble in common organic solvents. All the polymers exhibited three strong absorption peaks at around 320, 430 and 570nm, respectively. The UV-visible absorption maxima of P1, P2, and P3 thin films appeared at 323, 321, 323nm, respectively, which was resulted in the absorption of diphenothiazylvinyl units. The optical bandgap of P1, P2, and P3 were determined to be 1.88, 1.92, 1.72eV from the absorption onset. The HOMO levels of P1, P2, and P3 were estimated to be 5.52, 5.18, 5.11eV, respectively. The field-effect mobilities and photovoltaic properties of the polymers were characterized. |
