This presentation describes hierarchical macromolecular design for functional, fibrous, microporous hybrid monoliths. The monoliths were prepared based on self-assembled conjugated microporous polymers (CMP) with fibrous structure and simultaneously doped with heterogeneous atoms via single-step condensation reaction. Owing to the nitrogen atoms embedded on the CMP backbone, uniform encapsulation of each CMP fiber with zeolite imidazolate framework (ZIF) nanocrystals has been achieved, which further catalyzed the formation of molecularly imprinted layers onto the fiber strands through thiol-epoxy reaction. Therefore, the fibrous hybrid monoliths exhibited enhanced recognition properties toward diethylstilbestrol, an endocrine disruptor, in the presence of other structural analogs. We envisage that our design concept would be expanded to textile-based flow-through systems. |
