We have developed a method based on co-electrospinning for fabricating polymeric hollow fibers by one-step. The feasibility of this one-step method have been verified by the fabrication of polymeric hollow fibers. The diameter and wall thickness of those could be varied by controlling co-electrospinning parameters, such as dielectric constant of solvents, concentration of polymer solution, viscosity of oil phase and feeding ratio. The polymeric hollow nanofibers were obtained the nano-scales of wall thickness with an inner hollow diameter submicron, respectively. The smooth inner and outer surface, circular cross-section and uniform size of polymer hollow fibers are attractive applications in such areas of catalysis, optoelectronics, nanofluidics, drug delivery, or biosensorics. |
