제목 Thermal, mechanical and optical properties of covalent TiO2 - poly(propylene carbonate) nanocomposites
초록 In this study, nanocomposites composed of titanium dioxide (TiO2) core surrounded by covalently poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC) corona have been prepared by ‘grafting from’ approach. The modified TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) were encapsulated in PPC matrices by ring-opening polymerization of epoxide group and propylene oxide (PO) with carbon dioxide (CO2) using double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst. FT-IR, NMR, FE-SEM and TEM were employed for the structural and morphology characterization of the polymer as well as nanocomposites. The glass transition temperature, decomposition temperature, mechanical and optical properties of the PPC were significantly improved upon the covalent incorporation of TiO2 NPs in the polymer matrices.
