Bridged Polysilsesquioxanes (BPS) are nanohybrid materials, which have organic and inorganic parts homogeneously dispersed. They have multiple properties such as porosity, thermal stability, and chemical-function derived from their unique structures. In this study, BPS containing polymerizable groups were synthesized by the reaction of BPS-SH and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate(TEGDMA) through UV irradiation. And, hybrid composites of BPS-TEGDMA and PS were prepared by AIBN-initiated radical polymerization of styrene. The surface of BPS was homogeneously covered by PS, which was confirmed by TEM. The other properties of the hybrid composites were characterized by various analytical tools. |
