제목 | Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) Characterization Depending on Variety of Calcination Temperature for Photocatalyst Application |
초록 | Titanium dioxide (TiO2) as a material for photocatalyst has been studied with decomposition of organic compounds with advantages such as low-cost, low-toxicity, high-catalytic activity and chemical stability. The synthesis and characterization of TiO2, in this study, were focused depending on various condition of calcination temperatures. TiO2 was finally synthesized by calcination at 200 ℃ ~ 900 ℃ of the titanium glycolate, which was immediate substrate obtained from precursor. The band gaps of nanoporous TiO2 at 200, 500, 700, and 900 ℃ were 3.0349 eV, 2.6492 eV, 2.0614 eV, 2.0504 eV, respectively, which is lower than the known TiO2 band gap of Anatase and Rutile. As a result, it was confirmed that the higher the calcination temperature, the lower the band gap of TiO2. We show this TiO2 have a potential to be break the organic pollutant down. |
