A fieldeffect transistor (FET) sensor platform was manufactured to recognize particular biological objects by employing a buffer solution as a liquidion gate. Carboxylic acid-conjugated polypyrrole (CPPy) nanotubes were covalently incorporated into the microelectrode substrate, and thrombin aptamers were immobilized onto the nanotube surface as the molecular detection element. The FET sensor response was adjusted by tuning the chemical functionality of CPPy nanotubes, providing an effective way to sensitivity control. Accordingly, it is expected that CPPy nanotubes can be applied to smart signal transducers as well as molecular probes or DNA/protein carriers. |
