Numerous research of biochemistry has required sensitive and selective analytical methods for the determination of essential factors in human body. Glucose is an important energy source in the human body because it is important to check glucose levels. To determine the amount of glucose, many glucose sensors have been developed for a long time. In this study, we synthesized crosslinked polymer gel including fluorophore (PAFR gel). Fluorophores are well-known for pH-responsive properties. D-Glucose can be oxidized D-glucono-δ-lactone by glucose oxidase. When D-glucose was oxidized, it generates H2O2 and H2O2 is oxidized oxygen and proton. We utilized proton which is generated by D-glucose. This proton affects fluorescence changes of fluorophores. Through these fluorescence changes, we can easily observe glucose concentration by the naked eye. Also, the PAFR gel can facilitate quantitative and qualitative analysis of glucose using a sensitive fluorometric method. |
