Study on degradation of chitosan in acidic solutions by measurement of viscosity |
| 초록 |
The objective of this study is to explore the effects of storage in acidic solution on chitosan. Viscosity of chitosan solutions decreased with incereased storage time and temperature. After 3 days storage, the decrese in 50% of the initial viscosity value. These obtained results were confirmed that chitosan was degraded during storage in an acidic solution. Acid hydrolysis occured at ambient temperatures when holding chitosan in acidic solution for long time. And also the result revealed that the change in temperature has significant effect on the degradation of chitosan solution. |
