제목 Effect of inorganic particles on polysulfone/silica hybrid membrane for redox flow battery
초록 Energy storage has become the critical issue for the world's future energy supply. The redox flow batteries offer the best combination of energy efficiency and life-cycle costs compared with other technologies. Redox flow batteries are designed to convert and store the electrical energy into the chemical energy and release it when required. Polysulfone/silica hybrid membrane is prepared by the sol-gel process and employed as the separator for Zn-Br redox flow battery. polysulfone/silica hybrid membrane was prepared from polysulfone, 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane as the coupling agent, tetraethyl orthosilicate as silica precursor and dimethylformamide as the solvent. The characteristic properties of the polysulfone/silica hybrid membranes are investigated by thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and electrical resistance meter. polysulfone/silica hybrid membrane sucessfully prevent the bromine crossover which is necessary for the redox flow battery.
