Synthesis and Characterization of Li[Ni0.8Co0.15Al 0.05]O2 Cathode Material via Hydroxide Co-precipitation Method for Lithium Ion Battery |

The layered Li[Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05]O2 cathode material for lithium ion battery was prepared by using [Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05](OH)2 synthesized by a liquid phase co-precipitation method as precursor in mass production. The effects of reaction conditions on physical properties such as primary particles shapes and particle size distribution of [Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05](OH)2 were studies. Electrochemical measurement showed that the product prepared after calcinations has high discharge capacity of 197mAh/g and stable cycling performance at 1.0CA current between 3.0 and 4.3V versus Li at room temperature. |
