제목 Facile method to attaching initiating sites for atom transfer radical polymerization on carbon nano tube
초록 One of the most widely used methods to introduce initiators on CNT involves reactions under very harsh acidic conditions, which usually results in damaging CNT. In this study, a new synthetic method under mild conditions was developed. Methyl benzene was introduced on the surface of CNT by reacting with para-toluidine, and then benzyl bromide moieties were generated by the bromination of the methyl groups. The existence of the initiating sites was confirmed using Raman spectroscopy, SEM-EDS, and XPS. From the benzyl bromides on CNT, Polystyrene was grafted via the SI-ATRP technique.
