Polyaniline (PANi) is one of the versatile conducting polymers, because PANi has relatively facile processability, good electrical conductivity upon mineral acid-doping and environmental stability. However, the low molar mass acid dopants could easily migrate to the surface of PANi and then evaporate. As a result, the electrochemical stability of doped PANi decreases with respect to use time. Hence, Nafion has been studied as a non-volatile dopant to PANi and the results are appreciable. In this experiment, acid-terminated hyperbranched poly(ether-ketone)s (HPEK’s) were synthesized and used as polymeric dopants. The HPEK’s were miscible well with PANi and played as non-volatile dopants. |
